Great Shunner Fell

33 members of Goole Mountaineering Club made the outing to the Yorkshire Dales, floppy hats and sunglasses was the dress of the day with lots of suncream. standing at 716m (2,349ft) Great Shunner Fell is the highest mountain in Wensleydale. The walk started at 10:30am and was completed at 4.30pm.

The group split into mixed abilities a slow family group and a more advanced group that moved at a quicker pace. The walk ended at the Green dragon pub in Hardraw, all the children then visited Hardraw Force waterfall, at 100ft it is the highest free falling waterfall in England.

The next Walk planned is in the North Yorkshire Moors on Sunday 14 August, starting from Pickering across Levisham moor, 10 miles.

Also a wine tasting night and disco is planned for Saturday 20th August at the Lowther Hotel.
